Friday was the retirement ceremony for uncle Chris. In the morning we just played around the house and then got dressed up to go to the ceremony. It was a beautiful day so we watched the geese, ducks, and hummingbirds and enjoyed the sunshine. Here are a few pictures.

Chris will retire from the Navy after 26 years of service and many awards and accolades. Congratulations Chris and Thank you for your many years of service to our country, we are so very grateful.

Why are men in uniform so handsome?? My pictures from the ceremony suck, they are fuzzy or blurry. Maybe because Carly was trying to crawl all over me? After the ceremony there was a reception back at the house. I think Kelly could go into business hosting parties. It was pretty amazing...and of course I didn't get any pictures of that. But lets just say it was a good time had by all. Saturday morning we slowly got ready for the day.

Chris, Carly and I decided to go into Seattle and be tourists. It was fun. Here we are taking the Ferry from Bainbridge Island to Seattle.

We wanted to go to the Pikes Market so we made our way there. We needed to put Carly on the pig. It was funny Chris walked her up there and sat her on the pig and then stepped away and of course there were crowds of people taking pictures of the pig....and then they were all taking pictures of Carly sitting on the pig. She got mad at Chris when he got her off. She liked it. It was funny.

While at the market I told Chris we needed to get some doughnuts. I remember when my Mom worked for Horizon Air we would fly up to Seattle for the day and we always got these doughnuts. They are good, as good as I remembered them to be. I even let Carly try them.

We had lunch at Jasmine Thai we found it down one of the alleys off the Market area. I had the yellow curry it was delicious. See ->

After lunch we headed down by the piers to go through the shops. Carly got to go on her 1st carousel ride. Chris said she was making noises and having a good time. Here is a little video.
After we headed back to the house and hung out. We should have gone to bed early because we had to get up so early to leave the next day. We took pictures of 4 generations. Great Grandma Shirley, Grandma Jane, Chris and Carly.

So that is our trip. Sunday was Mothers day and we had to travel home. It was an early morning to catch the 5:20a ferry to Seattle. We had a pretty nice breakfast in one of the airport restaurants and then waited to board the plane. Thanks Whitney and Tyson for getting the truck to us in SLC. We made it home and Chris ran to the store to get us dinner and a few things. He brought me back some flowers for Mothers Day. Maybe next year Mothers Day will be spent being pampered and relaxing.
Thank you to the Gormans and Shirley for having us out. We had fun. Thanks Stephen for giving up your bedroom to us. Thanks guys for letting us use your car to be tourists. Thanks for accommodating a small child with a play pen, high chair, stroller and toys. Thank you for feeding us. Thank you for taking us to the baseball game. Truly thanks for everything and for being so great to us.
